The past week has been busy with vacations and Thanksgiving. I thought I might have had time over the holiday to post some of these, but, too much food and drink often get in the way :). ND and I went to Storm King Art Center the weekend before last. It’s been on our list for a while, and I’m glad we got there for what was one of their last open weekends for the season. I won’t bore you with the stats on this place, suffice it to say that it’s beautiful, vast and warrants more than one trip. Here are some shots from the day.
Now showing at Starbucks…
Exciting news! For the next two months I’m hanging 4 pieces at Starbucks in New Paltz. If you’re in the area, stop by, grab a coffee and check out my photography!
Occupy Wall Street
Last week, a co-worker and I went down to the Photo Plus expo in New York City to see some of the new products hitting the market and to lust after equipment that we could never afford. After a few hours there and a good Chinese food lunch, we found ourselves with about 5 hours to kill before meeting friends for dinner. Rather than hit a wine bar for…5 hours…we decided to get on the train and head down to Wall Street to see what was going on with Occupy Wall Street. After a few wrong turns, apparently thinking that we can just get off at the Wall Street stop and our bodies would be guided to Occupy Wall Street, we finally checked a map and arrived at Zuccotti Park. It was a pretty nasty day with cold rain and wind, so the protests weren’t really in full force (I was hoping to catch a drum circle or two to make me feel at home). Nevertheless, we spent about an hour walking through the area, listening to conversations and taking some pictures. Here are a handful.
