…and cooler at night. Fall has arrived in upstate NY (despite the 80 degree temps this past weekend!). Just in the past few days the colors have begun to pop. I went out tonight to get a few autumn shots, but, it was a little too cloudy and hazy. Instead I opted for a few more night shots in town. Beautiful Hudson Valley fall landscapes to come soon 🙂
Birthdays in Brooklyn
After a quick portrait shoot on Saturday morning over at Vassar Farms (pictures coming soon!), Nicole and I hopped on the bus and headed down to NYC. First stop was South Street Seaport for food and then onto Brooklyn for the night to celebrate Kate and Russell’s birthdays. After bartending with Dan for a bit, I thought some long exposure shots from different levels on the rooftop would be a good idea. Super fun party that Kate did a great job setting up and decorating. Happy Birthday again Kate!
On a side note, the photos that I took for the Poughkeepsie Farm Project “A Seat at the Table” event (I blogged about it here) were used in the press release on the Farm Project’s website.
Here are some shots from the party…

Summer has begun
After indulging in a lobster at the Gilded Otter last night, I walked home and decided it was too early and too nice out to go sit in my ice box of a house. So, I grabbed my new camera bag (the jury’s still out on this one) and tripod (getting the carbon fiber tripod was the best decision ever, I can actually carry it around and really use it) and took a walk around town. As the sun went down and civil twilight set in, I slowly walked through town watching the light change and snapping pictures. Summer in New Paltz is an interesting time…something you have to be around to see. I plan on getting out on some more nights to try to get pictures of more storefronts and restaurants as the sun goes down. Here are a few.
