I see so much beauty driving from New Paltz to Poughkeepsie on a daily basis.  Streams, orchards, swamps, hills, mountains and vineyards dot the landscape and backroads, even before arriving at one of the most beautiful points, the bridge crossing over the Hudson River.  For a while I’ve been thinking about doing an “on the way to work” series.  This past week I was able to grab a few morning shots.  Most of them I posted to Facebook (so follow me there if you aren’t already!), but there are a couple more I’ll post here.  Enjoy!

 

It’s been a relaxing and cold weekend.  Got out for a little walk today and saw that the Walkill was frozen…and well at the storm grates having some sort of rime ice on them. Looks like winter is finally taking a turn towards the cold…but still not much precipitation in the forecast.

The past week has been busy with vacations and Thanksgiving.  I thought I might have had time over the holiday to post some of these, but, too much food and drink often get in the way :).  ND and I went to Storm King Art Center the weekend before last.  It’s been on our list for a while, and I’m glad we got there for what was one of their last open weekends for the season.  I won’t bore you with the stats on this place, suffice it to say that it’s beautiful, vast and warrants more than one trip.
